Snowkite spot on Canyon Ferry Lake near Kim's Marina, in the northern part of the reservoir. This area offers good access and a vast riding zone on the frozen surface. Valley winds channeled between nearby mountain ranges. One of the lake's most popular spots.

Thin ice around marina structures and docks. Hypothermia — extreme temperatures with severe wind chill. Sudden blizzards. Hidden obstacles under snow near the marina. Gusty valley winds.
Large frozen surface with good access from the marina. Solid ice from December to March on the main body. Drifts and bare ice patches. Watch for marina structures that may be partially hidden under snow.
