Grizzly bears active in the area — especially in spring emerging from hibernation. Severe hypothermia — temperatures can drop below -30°C. Sudden blizzards. Unstable ice in places. Isolation — far from emergency services. Mountain lions in the area.
Frozen lake in winter with variable surface — bare ice, drifts, and wind-blown snow. Check ice thickness before each session. Moderate size offering good riding space.
