Cannon Lake is a snowkite spot in southern Minnesota. This inland lake offers a flat, open frozen surface ideal for snowkiting in winter. Good wind exposure thanks to the lake's open surface. Easy access from the Faribault area. Season from December to March depending on ice conditions.

Always check ice thickness (minimum 15 cm). Risk of hypothermia and frostbite in extreme cold. Current zones where ice may be thinner. Sudden blizzards possible. Carry ice safety equipment.
Frozen surface in winter providing flat terrain for snowkiting. Wind-blown snow creating varied conditions. Ice can reach good thickness in mid-winter.
