Island Park is a snowkite spot at 1,992m elevation on a vast snow-covered plateau in eastern Idaho, near Yellowstone National Park. Extreme cold — temperatures can drop below -30°C. Rapid hypothermia in strong winds. Frequent blizzards and white-out conditions. High elevation (1,992m): dehydration. Yellowstone bison and elk in the area — maintain distance. Fences hidden under snow. Limited cell coverage.
