Chestermere is a lake just east of Calgary, at 1027 m altitude. In winter, the frozen lake offers a vast flat surface for snowkiting, easily accessible from the city.
Chestermere Lake is an urban lake surrounded by the city of Chestermere. Its frozen surface in winter, combined with frequent Chinook winds, creates ideal snowkite conditions. It's the most accessible snowkite spot in the Calgary area. Rideable from December to March depending on ice conditions.
