Plataberget is a snowkite spot located on a mountain plateau at 471 m altitude near Longyearbyen, Svalbard. This site offers vast expanses of snow and ice ideal for landkiting and snowkiting in an exceptional Arctic setting.West and northwest winds are dominant, often strong and consistent on this exposed plateau. Extreme conditions reserved for experts: intense cold, sometimes reduced visibility, isolated terrain. Risk of polar bears. Mainly practiced in winter and spring when snow covers the plateau.
