Snowkite spot at the Ballon d'Alsace in the southern Vosges mountains (90), at 1239 m altitude — the highest point of the Vosges massif. Wide open summit area with 360° views over Alsace, Franche-Comté and the Black Forest. Access by car to the summit parking lot, which is open year-round. Good snowfall in winter. Popular with randonnée skiers and snowkiters.

Exposed summit with dominant westerly winds. South-West and West are the most reliable directions. Wind can be very strong and gusty at the summit — use smaller kites in strong conditions.
High-altitude spot exposed to rapid weather changes. Strong and gusty winds possible. Respect other mountain users. Prepare full cold-weather gear. Avalanche risk on steep slopes around the summit.
