Masirah Island - Kazhit is a kitesurf spot located on the southwest coast of Masirah Island in Oman. This spot benefits from the extraordinary Khareef wind regime that has made the island world-famous. The Khareef (southwest) blows from June to September with exceptional regularity and power, frequently between 20 and 35 knots. It is one of the windiest spots in the world during this period. Northeast winds complement the season in winter. Kazhit offers open water on the Arabian Sea with waves. The bottom is sandy. The environment is wild and desert-like, offering a unique setting. A spot for experienced riders due to the wind power. Masirah Island is accessible by ferry or plane from Muscat. Infrastructure is limited but some kite camps offer accommodation and logistics.
