Masirah Island - Gazebo Point

Masirah Island - Gazebo Point

Overview

Masirah Island - Gazebo Point is one of the iconic spots on Masirah Island, considered one of the best kitesurf spots in the world. Located off the east coast of Oman in the Arabian Sea, Masirah benefits from exceptional wind conditions. The Khareef wind (southwest) blows from June to September with remarkable power, often between 20 and 35 knots, making Masirah one of the windiest places on the planet during this period. The dominant directions are SW, SSW and S, offering side-shore to side-onshore conditions depending on the beach orientation. Gazebo Point offers open water on the Arabian Sea with waves and swell. The bottom is sandy with some rocky areas. The island is underdeveloped, which adds to the wild charm of the spot but requires some self-sufficiency. A spot reserved for intermediate and experienced riders due to the wind power and oceanic conditions. Conditions are among the most reliable in the world during the Khareef season.
