Overview

Maculis Tamarindo is a kitesurfing spot in the La Unión department, on El Salvador's eastern Pacific coast, near El Tamarindo. This spot offers a preserved natural setting on the Gulf of Fonseca.

Thermal southwest winds blow at 8-18 knots, picking up late morning. The dry season (November to April) also brings northeast winds. Best conditions are from November to June.

The spot suits beginners and intermediates with a spacious beach. Water is warm year-round. The Gulf of Fonseca provides relative protection from Pacific swell.
