Playa Avellanas Rivermouth is the spot located at the river mouth on Playa Avellanas, Pacific coast of Guanacaste. The river mouth creates a calmer and shallower water zone, offering different conditions from the open beach. The north-easterly Papagayo winds blow from December to April. The river mouth area is more accessible to beginners at low tide.
