Lake Arenal is one of the most renowned inland kitesurfing spots in the world, located at the foot of the Arenal Volcano in the Guanacaste province. This lake offers a body of water several kilometres long surrounded by spectacular volcanic landscapes. Thermal winds and Papagayo winds channelled through the valley create powerful and sometimes gusty conditions between November and April. Spot recommended for intermediate to advanced riders due to the gusts.
