Le Diamant is a water sports spot located on the south coast of Martinique, facing the famous Diamond Rock (Rocher du Diamant). The beach stretches over 3 kilometres — the longest on the island — and faces south/southwest, with direct exposure to Caribbean swells.
Trade winds from the east to northeast blow side-shore to cross-shore on this beach, ranging from 15 to 25 knots, sometimes exceeding 25 knots during the peak trade wind season (December to June). The best conditions are typically found between 11am and 4pm. The water is rough with chop, powerful waves and strong currents, making this spot strictly for experienced riders.
Le Diamant is considered one of the most challenging spots in Martinique. Violent currents and unpredictable conditions make it a playground exclusively for advanced to expert kitesurfers, wingfoilers and windsurfers. Surfing is also popular here thanks to the reliable swell.

The spot works with ENE to ESE trade winds that arrive side-shore on the south-facing beach. The best sessions happen with a well-established easterly wind at 20+ knots. The water is open ocean with waves and chop — no flat water here.

Dominant trade winds from the east to northeast, 15 to 25 knots in season (December to June). Winds can exceed 25 knots during strong trade wind episodes. Afternoons generally offer the most stable conditions. Off-season (July to November), wind is less reliable and tropical storm activity can disrupt conditions.
Violent currents: Le Diamant is known for its powerful and unpredictable currents. Never sail alone.
Powerful waves: Swell can be strong, especially on sustained wind days. Shore break can be violent.
Level required: Spot reserved for advanced and expert riders. Beginners and intermediates should head to more suitable spots (Pointe Faula, Le Vauclin).
