Talawila is a coastal village on the Kalpitiya peninsula in North Western Province. The beach faces west toward the Indian Ocean and receives SW monsoon winds from May to October.

An intermediate ocean spot. The wide sandy beach provides good launching space. Side-shore to onshore SW winds during the monsoon. Some wave action. The village has basic facilities and a historic church. A good base for exploring both ocean and lagoon spots in the Kalpitiya area. Tide-dependent conditions.
