Osan Beach is located on the northeast coast of South Korea in Gangwon province, facing east toward the East Sea (Sea of Japan). This is one of the more northern kitesurf spots in South Korea, exposed to NE and E winds that blow consistently during the colder season. The beach is relatively uncrowded compared to southern spots.
The east coast of Korea has much smaller tidal ranges than the west coast, making tide management less critical. The beach can pick up east coast swells, adding wave riding opportunities. Cold water temperatures from late autumn through spring require a thick wetsuit or drysuit.
