Hakampo is a beach located on the west coast of South Korea in Chungcheongnam-do province. This west-facing beach is exposed to the Yellow Sea and receives strong northwest and westerly winds, particularly during the autumn and winter months. The area is known for its significant tidal range, which can dramatically alter the beach landscape.
At low tide, vast mudflats are exposed, pushing the waterline far out. Kitesurfing is best around mid to high tide when there is sufficient water depth. The sandy bottom and open exposure make this a good spot for intermediate riders comfortable with tidal conditions.
