Gyeongpodae Beach is a famous scenic beach near Gangneung on South Korea's east coast, in Gangwon-do province. The beach faces east toward the East Sea and is well-known for its pine tree forests and traditional pavilion. For kitesurfing, the beach receives NE to E winds particularly during autumn and winter.
The long sandy beach provides a spacious riding area. East coast tidal variation is minimal compared to the west coast. The spot can get waves during NE wind events, making it interesting for wave riders. The water gets very cold in winter, requiring full cold-water gear.
