Overview

Malapascua Island is a small tropical island off the northern tip of Cebu in the Central Visayas, Philippines. Famous for diving with thresher sharks, the island also offers kitesurfing during the Amihan (NE monsoon) season from November to May. The island is exposed to NE winds on its eastern side.

The NE monsoon brings consistent winds of 12-20 knots. The shallow sandy areas around the island provide rideable flat water spots. The island's small size means limited beach space for launching. Coral reef surrounds much of the island - be cautious of shallow sections. Intermediate level with good island tourism infrastructure.
