Vilu Reef is a kitesurfing spot located in the Central Province of the Maldives. This reef offers a sheltered lagoon body of water, typical of Maldivian atolls, with shallow turquoise waters. The Maldives benefit from two wind seasons: the Hulhangu (northeast) from December to March and the Iruvai (southwest) from May to October. Both seasons offer consistent winds of 15 to 25 knots. The lagoon is shallow with a sandy and coral bottom. Warm water year-round (28-30°C).
