Kuredu Island is a kitesurfing spot located in Lhaviyani Atoll, in the North Province of the Maldives. This large resort is one of the most renowned kitesurfing spots in the Maldives, offering a vast turquoise lagoon with pristine sandbanks. The Maldives benefit from two exceptional wind seasons: the Hulhangu (northeast) from December to March and the Iruvai (southwest) from May to October. Both seasons offer consistent winds of 15 to 25 knots, with one of the highest rates of windy days in the Indian Ocean. Kuredu has one of the largest lagoons in the Maldives, with kilometers of sandbanks exposed at low tide. The body of water is flat and shallow, ideal for freestyle and progression. The bottom is sandy with areas of dead coral. The water is warm year-round (28-30°C), allowing riding in boardshorts. The resort features a professional kitesurfing center with equipment rental and lessons. Quality accommodation on the island. Accessible by seaplane from Male. A world-class kite destination combining perfect conditions and a paradise setting.
