Maehama Beach is one of the most renowned kitesurfing spots on Miyakojima, Okinawa Prefecture. This white sand beach with turquoise waters is protected by Kurima Island opposite, creating calm water conditions ideal for kitesurfing. Wind blows mainly in autumn and winter, and there are spots for every wind direction on the island.

Miyakojima sits on the 24th parallel, just above the Tropic, enjoying warm climate year-round. The wide shallow waters are a major advantage for kitesurfing. Every spot is only 5-20 minutes away by car.

Northeast trade winds dominate in winter (October to February), offering the best conditions. In summer, south winds are lighter. Tides are significant and influence conditions above the reefs. Suited for intermediate riders.
