Kashiwazaki is a kitesurfing spot in Niigata Prefecture, on the Sea of Japan coast. This spot is recognized as one of Japan's best beginner spots, with renowned kitesurf schools. Northwest winds are dominant in winter, generated by Siberian low-pressure systems.

The water is exposed to the Sea of Japan with moderate to choppy conditions depending on the season. Tides are present. Suited for beginners and intermediate riders.
