Kikugawa Estuary is a kitesurfing spot located on the Enshu coast in Shizuoka Prefecture, at the mouth of the Kikugawa River into the Pacific Ocean. The spot combines the advantages of an estuarine area with access to the open ocean. Southwest thermal winds blow regularly in summer, complemented by northeast winds in winter. The estuary area offers a flatter body of water than the open ocean, while the adjacent beach allows riders to enjoy Pacific waves. Currents at the river mouth can be significant, especially during spring tides. This spot is recommended for intermediate to advanced riders. Launching is from the sandy beach.
