Turtle Island (Serangan Island) is a major kitesurfing spot on the southeast coast of Bali. This artificial island offers a vast shallow body of water protected by a coral reef, creating perfect flat conditions. The southeast trade winds blow consistently from May to October with speeds of 15 to 25 knots. The spot is very popular with kitesurfing schools and offers generous space for sailing. At low tide, the lagoon can become very shallow in places but remains rideable. Along with Sanur, it is one of the two major spots in Bali's southeast area.
