Ideal Beach is a kitesurf spot located on the southeast coast of Tamil Nadu, near Mahabalipuram. This stretch of coastline faces east toward the Bay of Bengal and receives consistent winds during the northeast monsoon season from October to March. The beach offers a mix of sandy bottom and flat water conditions that make it suitable for intermediate riders.

The wind pattern here is driven by the NE monsoon, bringing cross-shore to side-onshore winds that are ideal for kitesurfing. Wind speeds typically range from 12 to 18 knots, with the strongest and most consistent conditions in November and December. The water is warm year-round, so no wetsuit is needed.
