Overview

Llanddwyn Bay (Newborough Beach) est une immense plage de sable sur la côte sud-ouest d'Anglesey, dans la réserve naturelle de Newborough. L'île de Llanddwyn avec ses phares et ruines de l'église de Sainte Dwynwen (patronne des amoureux gallois) offre un cadre spectaculaire. Excellent spot de kite avec un plan d'eau étendu et varié.

Parking forestier de Newborough (payant). Marche de 15-20 min à travers la forêt de pins pour atteindre la plage. Le parking se remplit vite en été.

Hazards

Courants de marée forts autour de l'île de Llanddwyn. Marée montante rapide sur la plage très plate. Bancs de sable mouvants. Isolement relatif — accès long depuis le parking.
