Varamon is an iconic kitesurfing spot located on the shores of Lake Vättern in Motala, Östergötland County. Varamon is Sweden's largest inland beach and one of the country's most popular lake kitesurfing spots. Lake Vättern, Sweden's second largest lake, offers an immense body of water with a fetch that can reach 130 km. In sustained west or southwest winds, significant waves form, offering conditions comparable to the sea. Varamon beach is long and sandy, ideal for launching kites. Varamon regularly hosts kitesurfing events and competitions. The rider community is very active. The infrastructure is excellent with parking, restrooms, and shops nearby. Varamon campsite is a gathering place for kitesurfers during summer. The spot is suitable for all levels thanks to the beach size and shallow water areas near the shore. Advanced riders enjoy the wave conditions in strong winds. The season runs from April to October.
