Sandhammaren is a cape exposed to multiple wind directions, making it a versatile spot. Southeast and east winds from the Baltic create good onshore conditions. South and southwest winds, which are very frequent, offer excellent side-shore conditions. In strong winds, waves form providing wave riding opportunities. The area is subject to significant coastal erosion, constantly changing the shape of the beach. The spot is wild and isolated, with no facilities in the immediate vicinity.
