Gotland Tofta is one of the most popular kitesurfing spots on Gotland, located on the west coast of the island, south of Visby. Tofta beach stretches over 2 km of fine sand, from Tofta in the south to the fishing village of Gnisvard in the north. It is the second largest beach on Gotland. Southwest and northwest winds blow side-shore across the large Tofta bay, producing a nice shore break. Outside the swimming season, Tofta is perfect for kitesurfing. The sandy bottom and gradual depth make the spot accessible to beginners. The kitesurfing season runs from May to October, with the best conditions in spring and autumn. The spot benefits from good sunshine and relatively mild water for Sweden. Kitesurf schools are available on site.
