Faro Farosund is a kitesurfing spot located on the island of Faro, north of Gotland. Farosund is the strait separating Faro from the main island of Gotland, offering a sheltered water body with varied sailing conditions. Faro is a popular destination for kitesurfers in Sweden, known for its spectacular raukar (limestone columns) landscapes and sandy beaches. The Farosund strait offers calmer conditions than the open sea, suitable for intermediate riders. Prevailing winds come from the southwest, but the spot also works in north and east winds thanks to its orientation. The main season runs from May to October.
