Are Sjon is a lake kitesurfing spot located in the Jamtland mountains, in central Sweden. Lake Are is at 373 meters altitude, at the foot of the famous Are ski resort, the largest winter sports resort in Scandinavia. In summer, the lake offers kitesurfing conditions on a freshwater body surrounded by mountains. The winds are channeled by the surrounding valleys, creating sometimes gusty but often rideable conditions.
