Ría de Ribadeo / Castropol is a large tidal estuary on the border between Asturias and Galicia. Flat water spot — the estuary provides sheltered conditions protected from Atlantic swell. Shallow, standing-depth water at high tide. Works with NE and W winds crossing the estuary. Good for beginners and freestyle. Tide-dependent — only rideable around high tide. The famous Playa de las Catedrales (Cathedral Beach) is nearby on the Galician side.
