Elie is a charming fishing village on the south coast of Fife, with a sandy beach facing south towards the Firth of Forth. It is one of the most renowned kitesurfing spots in eastern Scotland, with regular conditions in south and southwest wind. The body of water is relatively sheltered, offering good conditions for progression.

Free parking in the village of Elie and along the promenade. Easy beach access. The village is about 1 hour drive from Edinburgh via the Forth Road Bridge.
Rocks on the sides of the bay. Tidal currents at the entrance to the bay. Beach shared with swimmers in summer. Extensive shallow area at low tide.
