Belhaven Bay is a large sandy beach near Dunbar, on the east coast of East Lothian. Facing north towards the North Sea, the bay offers excellent kitesurfing conditions with an extensive body of water at low tide. It is one of the most popular spots in eastern Scotland, with an active kite community. The "Bridge to Nowhere" is an iconic landmark on the beach.

Free parking at Belhaven Bay, accessible from the coastal road west of Dunbar. Also accessible on foot from Dunbar town centre (20 min). The parking can flood during spring tides.
Tidal currents in the river channel. Fast rising tide on this very flat beach - risk of being cut off. Shifting sandbanks. Swimming area in summer - stay vigilant.
