Olenevka is one of Ukraine's most famous kitesurfing spots, located at the western tip of the Crimean Peninsula on Cape Tarkhankut. The main spot is on the Olenevka liman (lagoon), offering ideal conditions for beginners with shallow water (50 cm to 1.5 m) over a large flat area.
The bottom is sandy and the water body is sheltered from Black Sea chop, creating perfect flat water conditions. The lagoon is huge, allowing many riders to sail without crowding. Water temperature in summer reaches up to 28°C.
The prevailing wind comes from the northwest and southwest, blowing regularly from May to September. The kite season runs from May to October with the best months being June through August.
