Melides is a beautiful Alentejo beach near the Lagoa de Melides, between Comporta and Sines. Long sandy beach backed by cliffs and dunes. The lagoon itself is small and not used for kiting. Ocean side with NW Nortada — conditions similar to Comporta but even more remote. Popular with surfers and paragliders. Several beach bars and restaurants with sunset views. Very popular surf spot but inconsistent for kite due to offshore wind tendency.
