Swinoujscie is the westernmost city on the Polish Baltic coast, located on the islands of Usedom and Wolin, at the German border. It is a renowned kitesurfing spot with a very long fine sandy beach. The main spot is on the Baltic Sea side beach, offering wave and chop conditions in north winds. The beach is very wide and the sandy bottom allows easy launching. In west to northwest winds (side-shore), conditions are ideal. Swinoujscie benefits from good exposure to prevailing west winds. The city also offers the possibility of sailing on the Zalew Szczecinski (Szczecin Lagoon) on the south side, with flat water conditions. It is a popular kite destination for both Germans and Poles.
