Veluwemeer / Flevostrand is a windsurf and kitesurf spot on the eastern (Flevoland) shore of the Veluwemeer, in front of a campsite near Lelystad. This spot is the logical choice when E/NE wind blows — at that point Strand Horst on the opposite shore is offshore, while Flevostrand benefits from full onshore conditions.
Access via the N302 bridge. S/SW also blows in freely. No large standing depth area (unlike Strand Horst). Shipping lane immediately offshore — monitor boat traffic. Used mainly by locals and Strand Horst riders who cross over when wind shifts. Simple setup from the campsite area. Free or minimal parking.
From the main A28/N302 road, cross the Veluwemeer bridge and launch from in front of the campsite on the Flevoland shore. S/SW: blows in freely. E/NE: onshore here when Strand Horst is offshore. No formal facilities (kite school, shop) on site. Used as an escape when east wind makes the west shore offshore. Shipping lane close to shore — don't venture too far out.

Intermediate
Freshwater lake — flat to light chop, no tides or waves. Unlike Strand Horst, no large standing-depth area. Water gets deeper relatively quickly from shore. S/SW: flat. E/NE: slight cross chop. Shipping channel immediately offshore — deeper water. Good for intermediate riders and foilers comfortable without standing area.
Free parking at the campsite area at Flevostrand. GPS: Flevostrand, near Biddinghuizen/Lelystad, Flevoland. Access via N302 bridge over the Veluwemeer.
Primary use case: E/NE wind when Strand Horst (opposite shore) is offshore. S/SW also works well here. W/NW: offshore — don't use this spot. E/NE can be slightly gusty over Flevoland polder terrain but generally acceptable. Main season April–September. This spot is the complement to Strand Horst/Riviera: they work on opposite wind directions.
Shipping lane immediately offshore — commercial and recreational boat traffic, stay alert. No deep shallow standing area (unlike Strand Horst opposite) — water gets deep quickly offshore. E wind: works well here when Strand Horst is offshore. NE/E wind can be gusty over Flevoland polder terrain. No official kite school on site. Access via N302 bridge over the Veluwemeer.
