Nollenstrand is an urban beach spot on the western edge of Vlissingen (Flushing), Zeeland's main port city. Located at the foot of the Nollen sea defence — a distinctive sloping concrete coastal protection structure — this spot offers a unique mix of kiting on the Westerschelde/North Sea interface, with large freighters and ferries as a backdrop.
The beach is sandy with good width at low tide. The wind generally arrives cleanly from the southwest to northwest. This is a practical spot for local riders who want to kite close to Vlissingen, without the need to travel to the larger beach resorts. Less crowded than Vrouwenpolder but with a more industrial atmosphere.

Boulevard de Ruyter / Nollenstrand, Vlissingen. Parking available along the seafront boulevard. Follow signs to "Nollenstrand" or "Strand Vlissingen West".
⚠️ Nollenstrand / Vlissingen Boulevard is an urban spot with jetties and sea walls — watch for obstacles, especially at high tide when structures are partially submerged.
⚠️ Shipping traffic: the Westerschelde is one of Europe's busiest shipping lanes en route to Antwerp — large vessels pass close. Stay in the designated beach zone.
⚠️ N and NE wind: offshore for this spot — never launch in these conditions from Nollenstrand.
