Oostmahorn is a Frisian hamlet located between Lauwersoog and Anjum, directly on the Wadden Sea dike. Local and discreet spot, facing the open Wadden Sea, close to the port of Lauwersoog. View of Schiermonnikoog. Typical Wad conditions: flat standing-depth water at high tide, exposed bottom at low tide. Alternative to Lauwersoog Waddenzee for locals seeking fewer crowds.
From Lauwersoog: follow the dike westward towards Anjum/Oostmahorn. Parking on the dike. Rideable 2-3 hours around high water. Booties required. No infrastructure. Spot to discover independently.
Open all year round
