Medemblik is an IJsselmeer kitespot on the coast of Noord-Holland, in a harbour town with the historic Radboud Castle nearby. Shallow water for the first 60m — ideal for beginners and freestyle — then deeper water suitable for foiling. Kite strictly within the yellow buoys. NE winds provide the flattest water and most stable conditions; summer thermals often develop.
Parking free at Oosterdijk 8 (always available). Restaurant on-site in spring/summer. Day trips: Hoorn (historic city, 20min), Enkhuizen. More info: NKV Spotkaart

Free parking at Oosterdijk 8, Medemblik — always available with ample space.
One of the rare Dutch spots working with N, NE and E winds — highly sought after on easterly wind days. NE wind provides the flattest water and most stable conditions. Summer thermals possible (not always shown in forecast apps). Official NKV wind station on site for real-time data.
Seasonal restrictions apply — check NKV for current opening period. Kite strictly within the yellow buoys. The starting and landing zone can be crowded (bins, poles, trees nearby). Thermal winds common in summer — not always visible in forecast apps. Water becomes deeper beyond the shallows — suitable for foilers further out.
