Breezand at Vrouwenpolder is the largest and most popular kitesurfing beach in Zeeland. Located on the Veerse Dam that separates the Veerse Meer lake from the North Sea, the beach offers exceptional conditions: a wide open beach, easy flat water at low tide, and a small lagoon forms at high tide on the Veerse Meer side — perfect for kite control training and freestyle.
The official kitesurf zone starts to the right of the Vertigo Sports kitesurf club building (facing the sea). Vertigo Sports provides lessons, rental and local advice directly at the spot. Multiple beach restaurants and facilities are available.
Vrouwenpolder has the unique advantage of working with almost all wind directions — W, NW, N, NE and even E (side-shore), making it one of the most reliable spots in the Netherlands.

⚠️ Busy in summer: Vrouwenpolder is the most popular kitesurf beach in Zeeland — the official zone starts to the right of Vertigo Sports school. Respect the delimited area and give way to bathers.
⚠️ Veerse Meer parking is paid and regularly controlled. Do not park in other spots.
⚠️ East wind: Vrouwenpolder becomes an offshore spot in E/NE conditions — exercise caution, return to shore before going too far downwind.
Vrouwenpolder is a rare all-direction spot in the Netherlands. With W, NW and N the wind is fully onshore with waves on windier days. NE and E provide side-shore conditions — relatively flat water, ideal for racing and freeride. In peak season (April–August) dominant wind is NW; in autumn/winter (September–March) SW storms are frequent.
