Overview

Baarland is a kitesurf spot on the south shore of the Oosterschelde (Eastern Scheldt), on the island of Zuid-Beveland (Zeeland). The southern-facing shore means S/SW/SE winds are onshore — making this spot functional when other Zeeland locations are offshore. The Oosterschelde's sheltered waters are calmer than the North Sea.

Best winds E/ESE/SE/SSE/S/SSW/SW. NKV designated zone — read information signs on site. The Oosterschelde is a Natura 2000 protected estuary — strictly respect zone boundaries. Tidal currents present. A useful alternative when southerly winds dominate. Intermediate level.
