Salaspils is a town south-east of Riga, on the banks of the Daugava River. The kitesurfing spot uses a widened section of the river that provides enough water surface for riding.

The water body is freshwater with moderate current. Conditions are flat water. The spot is relatively narrow, limiting usable wind directions. North-west and south-east winds work best along the river axis.

Salaspils is easily accessible from Riga (about 20 minutes). The season runs from May to October. The spot suits intermediate to advanced riders due to current and limited space.
