Liepāja is Latvia's most renowned kitesurfing spot, located on the country's west coast facing the Baltic Sea. The long sandy beach stretches for several kilometres, providing ample space for riding.

The spot works primarily with west and south-west winds, which blow side-shore to side-onshore. Conditions vary from calm days perfect for beginners to more challenging sessions with wind-generated chop.

Liepāja regularly hosts kitesurfing competitions and has an active local community. The city offers all necessary amenities. The main season runs from May to October.
