Kolka is located at the tip of Cape Kolka, at the northern end of the Courland Peninsula in Latvia. It is a unique location where the Baltic Sea meets the Gulf of Riga, creating distinctive sailing conditions.
The spot is exposed to a wide range of wind directions thanks to its position on the cape. North-east to east winds are particularly favourable, blowing side-shore. The area is known for its currents at the junction of the two water bodies.
Kolka lies within Slītere National Park. The bottom is sandy with shallow areas. This is a spot for experienced riders due to currents and remoteness. The season runs from May to October.
