Marina di Sorso is a kitesurf spot on the north coast of Sardinia, between Sassari and Castelsardo. The long sandy beach is well exposed to the Maestrale (northwest) and the Tramontane/Gregale (north-northeast), which blow regularly and strongly in summer. The spot is less touristy than the north Gallura coast, offering a more authentic local atmosphere. Flat water near the shore and some chop further out make it suitable for all riding styles.
Open all year round
Intermediate
Free parking behind the beach, easily accessible from Sorso or Sennori via local roads. Basic facilities (bars, restaurants) in the Marina di Sorso village nearby.
Strong northerly wind with gusts — beginners should be cautious. Rocky coastline at both ends of the beach. Some boat traffic near the harbour. Avoid straying too far offshore when the Maestrale is blowing hard.
