Lago di Caldaro (Kalterer See) is a lake located in the province of Bolzano (South Tyrol), at 213m altitude. It is the warmest lake in the Alps, surrounded by vineyards and orchards, in a typical Tyrolean landscape. The lake benefits from a regular afternoon thermal wind, channeled by the Adige valley. The wine-growing setting is unique, between apple orchards and Gewurztraminer vineyards.

Paid parking at Lido di Caldaro. Easy access from Bolzano (15 km) or the Brenner motorway.
Small lake with limited space. Sometimes irregular thermal winds. Many swimmers in summer (warm lake). Respect the sailing zones.
