Kalamitsa is a spot on the south coast of Skyros, a Sporades island in the western Aegean. The Meltemi (N/NNE) is OFFSHORE on this south coast, limiting rideability in summer. The spot works in southerly wind (SE to SW), more frequent in spring and autumn. Skyros is mountainous in the south (~790m) creating complex wind effects. Reserved for advanced riders.
Riding in southerly wind only — mainly spring and autumn. Launch from the beach. Skyros is hard to access (ferry from Kymi). No kite center. Exploration spot for autonomous riders.
Open all year round

Parking accessible from Kalamitsa village. Paved road from Skyros town.
WARNING: the Meltemi (N/NNE) is OFFSHORE on Skyros's south coast. Mountains (~790m) create turbulence and katabatic effects. Do not ride in Meltemi. The spot works in southerly wind: SE/SSE (side-onshore), S (onshore), SSW/SW (side-onshore). More frequent outside summer.
Meltemi OFFSHORE + katabatic effects = extreme danger in northerly wind. Isolated island, very limited rescue. Ride only in southerly wind, with company and communication equipment.
