Kalavarda is a kitesurfing spot on the west coast of Rhodes, among the southernmost on the island's west strip. This pebble and sand beach offers NW/W Meltemi conditions side-onshore, in a markedly less touristy setting than the north of the island. The agricultural village of Kalavarda is authentic and quiet. The spot suits self-sufficient intermediate riders looking for an uncrowded riding area with reliable Meltemi. Views of offshore islands add to the charm.
Kalavarda works with the NW/W Meltemi side-onshore. Open riding area, very quiet in terms of traffic. No water sports center — total self-sufficiency. Moderate chop, intermediate conditions. Works from June to September.
